Winter dormancy is broken in spring by the emergence of bronze-red foliage and brilliant masses of scarlet red flowers. The flowers are followed by an abundance of small, dark, red-purple fruits, held in medium-sized clusters from autumn until deep into winter.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"cs5CC07D4\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"cs983BFCB\"\u003eFlowering and colouration are best in full sun, but Tom Matthews™ is also quite happy with part sun.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"cs5CC07D4\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"cs983BFCB\"\u003eFoliage is mid- to dark-green and tinged with bronze, particularly on the new growth.
