Landscape Roses

Landscaping with roses began in Europe around 1804, at the gardens of Château de Malmaison in France. This was the home of Empress Joséphine and Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, and the empress planted roses extensively throughout the gardens. The term ‘landscape roses’ refers to low shrubs, or ground cover varieties, that are suited to being planted over larger areas. Any rose can be used for landscaping, however the following varieties are bred specially for their free flowering and easy care.
