Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea 'Rose Glow'
A charming deciduous shrub, growing around 1 meter tall and 1.2 meters wide. Its young leaves start off rosy red and burgundy, playfully speckled and marbled with pink and white, then deepen to a rich purple later in summer. Come autumn, it dazzles with a fiery mix of red, orange, and amber hues. In spring, you’ll also spot delicate pale yellow flowers tinged with red, followed by bright red berries in autumn.
⚠️ Thorny Note: Please note that Berberis are thorny plants. This makes them excellent hedges when deterring kangaroos, wallabies and deer (or indeed people). Something to be mindful of when selecting their placement, though.
