Coleonema pulchellum 'Compactum'

Coleonema pulchellum 'Compactum' – Dwarf Pink Diosma

'Compactum' is the dwarf form, building a dense rounded mound to around a metre rather than the two metres of the species. The evergreen foliage is fine, soft and needle-like, aromatic when brushed, and from late winter through spring the whole bush is covered in small pink star-shaped flowers.

It flowers more freely than the golden-leaved forms and suits low hedges, borders, rockeries and mass planting. Plant in well-drained soil and trim lightly after flowering to keep it tight. Once established it handles dry conditions well, and the flowers bring in bees and butterflies at a thin time of year.
