Deutzia scabra 'Candidissima'
'Candidissima' is a tall, vigorous deciduous shrub that puts on a spectacular late-spring floral display of large clusters of lightly honey-scented, fully double white flowers. The pristine blooms reach 3 cm wide, arranged in lengthy panicles of up to 12 cm and are produced in such abundance that branches may arch under the weight.
With upright, erect branching and light green, rough-textured foliage, 'Candidissima' performs exceptionally in full sun to part shade across a wide range of soil types, tolerating both sheltered and exposed positions. It is ideal as a large specimen shrub, at the back of a mixed border, or in informal woodland-edge plantings.
