‘Mother’s Choice’ is a mid-to-late season cultivar with fully double, creamy white blooms that are shaded delicately with soft pink towards the centre. The blooms are large (20+ cm) and held aloft by large, stiff stems that do not need support. In cool weather the flowers can blush a little more pink, opening to white. The inner petals of some blooms may also have thin red edges or flecks.

Performs outstandingly in the garden, producing many side buds to give a long flowering period. Just as good as a cut flower, too!

A truly wonderful peony that is now finding the recognition it deserves. ‘Mother’s Choice’ will no doubt become an heirloom plant for many families, passed on to future generations.

‘Mother’s Choice’ was recipient of the prestigious Gold Medal of the American Peony Society in 1994. This award is considered the ultimate accolade the society can give to a peony cultivar.

Introduced in 1950 by Lyman D. Glasscock, of Illinois, USA. Glasscock also bred ‘Flame’.
