This strong growing variety blooms mid-to-late in the season, producing deep, velvet, ruby red double blooms that are well shaped.

Peony buds are large and produced on strong, tall stems to 1.2m high. Ideal for picking.

‘Paul M. Wild’ was bred in 1964 by the Wild brothers, Paul and Alan Wild, who were the sons of Gilbert Herman Wild. The variety is named after Paul.

Gilbert Herman Wild & Sons is a long standing nursery business established in 1885 in Sarcoxie, Missouri. It started off with Gilbert purchasing a crate of peonies from England at the age of nine years old and planting them at the back of his father’s family home. Within three years Gilbert had started to sell the blooms.
