Hydrangea macrophylla 'Président R. Touchard'   -   Mophead Hydrangea

Hydrangeas are a shade loving plant that grow best in a shady part of the garden.

President R. Touchard is noted for its dark flowers, with large round mop head blooms held above large soft green leaves. This variety has dark blue/purple flowers when grown in acidic soils or a dark cherry red if the soil is alkaline.

Grows as a deciduous, rounded shrub to a height of 1 to 2 meters tall and the same width.

Soil can be made alkaline by adding sulphur/calcium nitrate, or made acidic by adding aluminium sulphate.
