Viburnum carlesii

Viburnum carlesii   -   Korean Spice Viburnum

A deciduous shrub that is a real beauty for most of the year. Intensely fragrant clusters of pink-budded white flowers that appear in early spring, developing into bright red berries that mature to black.

This hardy ornamental reaches 1.5-2 m in height with a similar spread, featuring oval, textured foliage that transforms to rich wine-red and burgundy hues in autumn.

Thrives in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil, though tolerant of many conditions and mostly trouble-free. 

Makes an excellent specimen plant where its intoxicating scent can be fully appreciated.
