Description
Additional Information
Probably the most beautiful inflorescence in the Arum genus, comprising a dark purple spadix surrounded by a pale green spathe with deep purple margins. Leaves emerge from the summer dormancy in early autumn, each growing up to 60 cm long. A long flowering period follows from early winter until mid-spring.

Flowers keep well once cut, lasting up to a week in a vase.

Will grow best in any sunny spot with free-draining soil that is kept moist. Drainage is important as they will not tolerate sitting in water well.

For best flowering, feed with a high nitrogen liquid fertiliser once a fortnight during the growing season, especially if kept in pots.

Grows up to 1 metre high in good conditions.
