Dierama pulcherrimum   -   Pink Fairy Fishing Rods

These are great hardy plants to grow that are native to South Africa and form a corm cluster under the ground and have strong upright sword foliage which forms large clumps to 1 meter high in Summer around Christmas time thin wiry stems emerge with pink bell flowers along the ends of the blooming stem. Other names for these plants are Lady’s Riding Whips and Fairy Fishing Rods. Plants are best grown in full sun and can be cut to the ground in winter to tidy the plant up.
