Directions For Use

Garden Beds – weed first, water the ground well, then spread 50 to 75 mm deep, keeping the straw 2 cm clear of stems and trunks. Water again to settle it.

Vegetable Beds – spread more thinly, around 30 to 50 mm, so seedlings are not smothered.

Top up – as the straw breaks down over the season.

Pea straw can carry viable pea seed, so expect a few pea seedlings. They pull out easily, or dig them in as a green manure.

Wear gloves and a dust mask when handling, and wash hands after use.
