Herbaceous Peony 'Coral Supreme'

A highly sought-after coral peony with large, cup-shaped, semi-double blooms. The flowers open a salmon-coral and age to a charming peach-coral, with centres filled with light yellow stamens. Blooms sit on strong, upright stems up to 1 metre tall. Flowering early in the season, this variety makes an ideal cut flower. It mostly carries one bloom per stem, though sometimes with a few side buds. Plants are very vigorous and easy to establish.

Coral Supreme was bred by Samuel E. Wissing of Lombard, Illinois, USA, and reflects some 27 years of his work hybridising peonies. It first bloomed around 1963-65 and was registered in 1981 by Roy G. Klehm of Song Sparrow Nursery. It is a sister seedling of 'Coral Charm'.
