'Immaculee' is a magnificent, albeit unusual, variety of herbaceous peony that brings a beautiful display to the garden, along with a fantastic fragrance.

This variety is known for its variable flower form, ranging from well-filled bomb-type blooms to the more delicate, lightly filled anemone form. The large outer guard petals are white, often with a pink glow. They surround a multitude of lemon-to-white petaloids that can also be flushed with pink at times. At the very heart of the blooms are the pink-red tipped carpels that provide an attractive focal point.

The individual blooms are stunning in their own right, but 'Immaculee' also pleases with a further display of side buds that open as if to say, Look at me. These numerous secondary flower buds allow the blooming period to extend significantly.

Sturdy stems hold the blooms as they open in the mid-to-late season, reaching a height of 80 cm. Very healthy, with satin-gloss foliage.

About the Breeders
This magnificent and charming cultivar is a Dutch creation, bred by Van der Valk and Van der Zwet. They released this variety in 1953, and it has remained popular ever since. The breeders are also known for the variety 'Catharina Fontijn,' which is also found growing in Australian gardens.
