Phormium 'Maori Chief'

This is a fine form of flax which has superb showy striped foliage that is a great plant for modern home gardens. Happy at home in full sun in rockery gardens or for a splash of colour in the perennial border. Grows best in a sunny position with some well composted soil and forms a handsome plant with strap foliage on a plant to 1 meter high flowering spikes reach 1.5 meters tall with black seed capsules adding extra contrast to this great plant.
