The rich burgundy black coloured foliage is deeply cut giving a delicate lacy appearance on this hardy yet versatile shrub suitable for full sun to part shaded positions. This winter dormant deciduous shrub benefits from a winter prune to promote a bush new growth in spring from which flowers are produced in flattish umbels to 15cm wide of pink colour which is a stunning contrast to the dark foliage in late spring and early summer.
